Nadcap Accreditation Renewed

Nadcap AccreditedSteel Industries has continued to focus on the growth of our aerospace capabilities in both steel and aluminum, and in June of this year we underwent a NADCAP audit for our aluminum heat treatment process. The audit was a great success, and we received our certificate and full accreditation in July 2008.

NADCAP was originally an acronym for the “National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program.” Today, they are simply known as NADCAP and have become an internationally recognized organization for the auditing and approval of special processes. Unlike ISO 9001:2000 which is a company-wide quality system, NADCAP accreditation is specific to special processes such as mechanical testing, anodizing, welding and in the case of Steel Industries, heat treatment.

Steel Industries is committed to the growth and improvement of our business, including ongoing additions to our already high level of capability. NADCAP approval of our aluminum heat treatment is just one of the many new and exciting changes happening here in Redford, with NADCAP approval of our steel heat treatment planned for the very near future.
